Twice upon a time in a valley of the tears, a Community of Decency invited all to play some tennis. And despite what the sign above reads, all footwear is welcome, including roller skates…
It’s with great earnestness that The Community announces a rennaissance of the fabled game that brought us the likes of Ivan Lendl, Boris Becker, Guy Forget, and Michael Chang (all of whom are extremely decent bastards in their own right). Indeed my friends, it’s back to 80′s and the glory days of tennis — and quite frankly, I’ve got a boner the size of my newly restrung Yonex racquet.
On the heels of perhaps the greatest match of all time, The Community anticipates the reawakening of the monster that was tennis in the 1980′s. We’re talking creativity, international style, grace, unparalleled fashion, spirited competition, and, you guessed it – decency.
From Evert to Navratilova, Borg to Connors — The Community senses a revival of epic proportions! It’s great exercise, fun, and simple to play! If the names Gerulaitis, Edberg, and Wilander don’t excite your decency juices, then I’m afraid we’re operating on different decency planes.
Undoubtedly, tennis players of the 80′s exhibited some of the most transcendent moments in not just sport, but in enlightening our culture with dash, flair, and their own unique presence and demeanor that was certainly decent to the bone!
